Benjamin Y. Chan graduated from BYU in 2007 with a degree in Music Performance. While at BYU, he performed with the Chamber Orchestra and the BYU Philharmonic.
In 2009 Chan entered a contest sponsored by YouTube, an online video sharing website, and competed against more than 3,000 musicians for a spot in their Concert Symphony.
He was selected to perform as part of the YouTube Concert Symphony, the world's first online-auditioned orchestra, at New York's Carnegie Hall in April 2009.
