Tony J. Martin received his BA in Journalism from Brigham Young University in 1986. While attended the university he wrote for the campus newspaper (The Universe) and then, after graduating, headed to Chicago to write for a few newspapers. Soon afterwards, he realized his hobby paid better than his job so he embarked on a professional songwriting career.

Martin now has established a name for himself as a country songwriter. His songs, thirteen of which have hit No. 1 on the country charts, include George Strait’s hit, “Go On” and Tim McGraw’s classic, “Just to See You Smile”. His time in the BYU Communications department taught him to get to the heart of a story, a skill he uses to create great songs.
