Robin McLelland

Robin McLelland is an Assistant Professor in the Modern Dance Division of the Department of Dance at BYU. She holds a MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah where she received the L. Scott Marsh Mentorship Award as a result of her leadership and scholarship. McLelland is also a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst and Registered Somatic Movement Educator.
McLelland has taught over 15 different courses including all levels of modern dance technique, composition, improvisation, Somatics, LMA, kinesiology, and Orientation to Dance at the University of Utah, Utah Valley University, and Brigham Young University. She has also taught masters classes in contact improvisation, and has experience choreographing and working in musical theater.
Her creative work has been presented throughout the United States. She has also been commissioned to create works for many Utah based dance companies. Her focus on performance, choreography, and concert direction has led her to create and look for opportunities to produce her own work and contribute through collaboration. Along with her passion for dance, McLelland has a passion for play. She enjoys being upside down, eating ice cream straight from the carton, and speaking like a pirate on occasion.
