Honors Thesis

Paul's Honors Thesis is entitled The Viola Collections of St. Petersburg and the Primrose International Viola Archive: A Comparative Analysis. It is an examination of the holdings of printed music for viola solo and viola concerto of two major music repositories in St. Petersburg, namely, the National Library of Russia and the Music Library of the St. Petersburg Academic Philharmonic Society Named After D. D. Shostakovich. The thesis contains a comparative listing of works in the Primrose International Viola Archive (PIVA), the premier repository of printed viola music in the world, and identifies 36 pieces present in the Russian collections but absent in the PIVA. A copy of the thesis is available in the Harold B Lee Library on BYU campus.
