Patricia Reading 1963 - 2009
Patricia (Trish) Reading, a local actress and graduate of BYU passed away on July 13, 2009, at her apartment in Provo Utah. She was 46 years old.
Early Life and Education
Reading was born in Los Angeles, California, on July 13, 1963 to her parents Daryl O. Reading, and Darlene L. Holman. She was the middle child of three, with a sister 6 years older, and a brother, 5 years younger. They grew up together in Placentia, California where her parents still reside. Reading was known for performing at church and school events, even at a very young age. She graduated in 1981 from Placentia's El Dorado High School, served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Nashville Tennessee Mission ('84-'85), and completed a bachelors degree in Fine Arts at BYU in 1989. Fall of 2007, she traveled to England to begin a Master's degree in voice studies at the University of London Central School of Speech and Drama. She completed her degree in the fall of 2008.
Career
She has spent most of the past 20 years in Provo, Utah working at the SirsiDynix software company, and performing in numerous productions here in Utah, including at the Pioneer Theatre Company, the Provo Theatre Company, and the Actors' Repertory Theatre Ensemble. She was also a member of the Actors' Equity and loved theatre and performing all of her life. Some of the numerous productions she was involved in include: Macbeth, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Angels in America, The Sound of Music and Shadow Lands.
Family Life
In addition to her family, Reading has always had many long time friends who will greatly miss her. She is most remembered for her energy and expressiveness, her concern for people, and her generosity and willingness to help others. She is survived by her parents (before mentioned), her sister Deborah A. Young (Bob) of Madison, WI, her brother Kevin George Reading (Cindy) of Laguna Hills, CA, her grandfather Seth F. Reading, aunt, uncle and cousins.
