Nicole Peterson Dugdale graduated from Brigham Young University in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in dance.

In 2013, she had the opportunity to visit Beijing with other students from the College of Fine Arts and Communications. While in Beijing, students studied traditional Chinese theatre, and incorporated those techniques into their performance of Hans Christian Anderson's The Nightingale, which was funded partly by the Laycock Center for Creative Collaboration in the Arts. Dugdale played the role of the Nightingale/Young Man's Wife in the play.
