Mallory R. Everton graduated from Brigham Young University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in media arts studies. That year, she received a scholarship sponsored by the Ray and Tye Noorda Foundation for her exceptional work in media arts fiction.

While at BYU, Everton was part of Divine Comedy, a prominent humor group on campus. In 2012 she moved as a writer and cast member to Studio C, a comedy series with BYU Broadcasting.

Everton directed the parody The Hungry Games as part of the "Pretty Darn Funny" series produced by BYU students and directed by Jeff Parkin. She also was featured in "Tomorrow's Coming," a music video about the educational journeys of life and BYU.
