Larry Gelwix

D. Larry Gelwix (born 1950) is the coach of Highland High School's rugby team in Salt Lake City. The recent movie Forever Strong, was inspired by him and his team's story.
Gelwix operates a travel agency and has formerly been an LDS seminary teacher.
Known as the "Getaway Guru", Gelwix is the co-host of The Travel Show, a weekend program heard on KNRS Radio in Salt Lake City and various stations throughout the Intermountain West region.
Gelwix is a native of California. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the midwestern United States. He has a bachelors in Speech and Drama and a masters degree in Public Relations from Brigham Young University.
He also played rugby for three years at BYU and was honored by BYU in 2009 during that year's Homecoming Celebration.
Gelwix and his wife Cathy are the parents of five children.
