Keith McKay Evans graduated from Brigham Young University in 2014 with a master's degree in mass communications. he received his bachelor's degree in history from BYU in 2011.

As a student, Evans was a member of BYU's popular men's a cappella group, Vocal Point from 2008-2013. He served a full-time mission for the LDS Church in Seattle, Washington.

In 2011,Vocal Point competed on NBC's show, "The Sing-Off" and finished in fifth place and as a definite audience favorite. A few months after the competition, the group sang three concerts in a single weekend at the Covey Center for the Arts. In 2012, former and current members of Vocal Point formed a new a cappella ensemble, ReMix, and hosted a singing camp for vocalists 15-25 years old.

In 2014, Evans competed in the College of Fine Arts and Communication's 3 Minute Thesis Contest, winning first place and progressing into the 3 Minute Thesis' university-wide finals. At the university level, Evans also won first place, receiving a cash prize for his research on changes in country music lyrics during the past twenty years.
