Katie Lynn Reed graduated from Brigham Young University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in studio arts and her art education license.

In 2011 Katie was part of the Capitol Reef Project funded by the Laycock Center for Creative Collaboration in the Arts. The project included students from all disciplines of Visual Arts and concluded with an exhibit, A Private Experience in a Public Space, at BYU and also at Snow College.

Two years later Katie created a piece for the Sight and Sound event created by Nathan and Aaron Haines. Throughout her work Katie was able to collaborate with musician Todd Kitchen, who composed a piece based on Reed's art.
