Karl W. Beckstrand

Karl W. Beckstrand was born and raised in San Jose, California. He served an LDS mission in Viña del Mar, Chile, and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the College of Communications & Fine Art at BYU in 1994. He studied screenwriting and film in California and Utah.

Beckstrand has taught English as a second language, and is a published author/illustrator of bi-lingual children’s books. He has crafted marketing for Printech Corp. in Salt Lake City; editing and editorial research for Biophotonics Magazine (MA) and PaperCrafts Magazine (UT); extensions of remarks for The Congressional Record of the U.S. House of Representatives (DC); public relations and journalism for The Children’s Miracle Network; Spanish communications for Marriott, Sears, HMSHost, and Utah Heart 2 Home; and technical recruiting/instruction for Intel Corp., PC Personnel, and Adaptec (CA).

He has been a volunteer chaplain at Stanford University Hospital and a Spanish Sunday School instructor. He has experience in radio, stage, studio, TV, and film. He has his own publishing company, and sings in a band.

Karl W. Beckstrand is from San Jose, California. He is a published author/illustrator of several books and writes/edits for periodicals, newspapers, and local businesses. He received his BA in journalism from Brigham Young University (UT), studied television and film at Film Actors Academy (CA), and screen writing at the University of Utah. He lived in Chile for two years, and has acted as a Spanish/English interpreter in a variety of settings. He has experience in TV, radio, stage, studio, and film, and occasionally sings with a band. Mr. Beckstrand has his own publishing company: Gozobooks.com, and has experience in government, high-tech, PR/journalism, marketing & sales, broadcasting, film, healthcare, non-profit, and hospitality/travel. He lives to collaborate and to share elevating ideas with as many people as possible—using whatever media is most fun and effective.
