Joseph Staubhaar

Joseph Dean Staubhaar was the coordinator of graduate studies, director of the Communications Research Center, and a professor in the Department of Communications at Brigham Young University. Staubharr has also taught at the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Florence, Aarhus University in Denmark, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, the American University of Paris, Universidad Diego Portales in Chile, Universidade de São Paulo, Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra, and Michigan State University.

He received his bachelors degree in communication and psychology from Stanford University in 1973. He has master's degrees in development studies (1974) and law and diplomacy (1975) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, where he also earned his PhD in 1981.

Staubhaar has written numerous published books, chapters, articles, and papers based on his research in the field of communications. In 1998, he received an Annual Award for Research Excellence from BYU's College of Fine Arts and Communications.
