The aim is to foster aesthetic appreciation, historical understanding and ethical awareness. Now with over 30,000 registered users, Typophile is guided by the principles of open collaboration, integrity and the idea that we’re always learning.
In 2004 Typophile started the Typophile Film Fest, a festival of typographic shorts, with the debut showing held at TypeCon 2004 in San Francisco. Annual festivals have been shown since in New York, Boston and Seattle with additional shows in Typophile's home of San Francisco.
Typophile has been featured in many mainstream graphic design magazines, including Communication Arts, Tupigraphia, Metropolis, Applied Arts Magazine, STEP and How.
Typophile is produced, designed and maintained by Punchcut, a San Francisco based interface design company.
