As a costumer she has worked with the Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Oregon Shakespearean Festival, the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, Tuacahn Center for the Arts in St. George, Utah and the Pioneer Theater Company in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has worked in an administrative capacity for the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company of Salt Lake City; the Sundance Institute; the Sundance Film Festival; and the Des Moines Civic Center for the Arts and on several industry-produced films.
In 2011, Perkins designed the costumes for the Heloise Crista Project. This project was part of the Laycock Center for Creative Collaboration in the Arts. The project culminated with a themed dance concert, entitled Transformations, which was presented at four sold-out performances. Heloise herself was able to attend one performance.
In 2013, Perkins was awarded BYU's Staff and Administration Employee Recognition Award for Competency. In 2015, she was the costume designer for the BYU produced Opera Hansel and Gretel. That year, she was the costume and makeup shot manager for the production of Water Sings Blue.
