Dick Nourse

Dick Nourse is an anchorman for KSL 5 Television who has been a very influential person on the network for approximately 43 years. Originally from Grand Junction, Colorado, Nourse received his college education from Mesa College in Grand Junction and Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. While at BYU, Nourse majored in drama while attending the College of Fine Arts and Communications.
During his time with KSL, Nourse has received several awards of recognition since joining the network in 1964, including his induction into the Utah Broadcast Hall of Fame in May of 2000. Nourse has been involved in several news assignments for KSL. In 1967, one of his assignments was to visit with soldiers in Vietnam who were originally from Utah and ask them about their experiences during the war. Having served in the United States Army and Air Force, this project in Vietnam has had a lasting influence on Nourse throughout his life.
Recognized by others as a leader in his community, Nourse has demonstrated his leadership role by serving on such organizations as the Society of Professional Journalists, the Community Council of Cottonwood Hospital, the Utah Air Force Association, the Utah chapter for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and the Great Salt Lake Development Committee. As a survivor of cancer, Nourse is also an honorary board member for the Cancer Wellness House. Nourse will be retiring from his anchorman position at KSL in November of 2007. However, he will continue his work by freelancing stories for KSL.
