Deanne DeWitt
After finishing her education, DeWitt managed 4 costume shops in Utah and California, and designed costumes for over 30 productions before returning to BYU full-time in the fall of 2001. In addition to BYU, she has worked for Tuacahn Center for the Arts, in St. George, Provo Theatre Company, College of Eastern Utah, in Price Utah, Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City, UVSC in Orem, Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, CA, and Hale Center Theatre in SLC, as well as many other theatre’s.
She has taught advanced pattern drafting and draping, shop management, jewelry and armor construction, and costume technology for the Department of Theatre and Media Arts. DeWitt currently serves as the assistant manager, head cutter/draper, and hair/makeup area head for the Costume Shop. Outside her duties at BYU, she is the mother of four girls and four boys (five are married now) and the grandmother of eight brilliant and adorable children.
