Daniel L. Hughes
In March 2006 Hughes was awarded an Oscarson Discovery Grant which enabled him to relocate to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where he interned with renowned illustrator Daniel Horne.
In May 2007, Hughes was awarded the Barnett Plotkin Memorial Award from the Society of Illustrators, New York.
Upon graduation, he fulfilled a five-month internship in Salt Lake City, Utah, at Avalanche/Disney Interactive video game studios from May - September 2007. At the completion of his internship he was hired as a production designer at Lumenas Animation Studios in Salt Lake City, where he was employed from September 2007 - February 2009. Lumenas studios halted production in February 2009, and Hughes began freelance illustration work. From June - July 2009, he worked with Robert T. Barrett on a number of projects.
Currently, he is employed as a concept artist, and UI designer at Wahoo Video Game Studios in Orem, UT.
