Dallyn Vail Bayles

Originally from Green River, Utah, Dallyn Vail Bayles is a professional actor, singer, and recording artist. He has performed with the Broadway touring company of The Phantom of the Opera as a Raoul understudy, and Les Miserables as Enjolras. He was also part of the China premiere company of Les Miserables that performed at the Shanghai Grand Theatre and starred Colm Wilkinson as Jean Valjean.Bayles has also performed with award-winning songwriter, Stephen Schwartz, in the New York industry presentations of his musical, Children of Eden, singing the role of Adam.
Other theatre credits include Count Philippe de Chandon in Phantom at Fullerton Civic Light Opera, Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden at Village Theatre and Ziegfeld Tenor in Funny Girl at Sundance Theatre. At BYU, Bayles played the role of Father in Children of Eden, Paul Bratter in Barefoot in the Park, and Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance. While at BYU he was also a member of the touring group Young Ambassadors.
An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bayles has worked on several religious films. He portrays Hyrum Smith in the films Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration and Emma Smith: My Story. He has also starred in three movies in the Liken the Scriptures series.
Together with his wife, Rachel, Bayles performed in the first three seasons of the historical church pageant in Nauvoo, Illinois. He originated the role of Joseph the Carpenter in the LDS Conference Center Theatre production of Savior of the World. He also played the role of Alma Richards in Light of the World, which was performed during the 2002 Winter Olympics. He has also appeared as a guest soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir on Music and the Spoken Word.
Bayles has recorded on several albums and has released a solo album, Prayer.
He graduated from BYU in 2004 with a degree in Music Dance Theatre. Bayles and his wife are the parents of three children and reside in the New York City area.
