Christian Vuissa

Christian Vuissa graduated from BYU in 2002 with a degree in Media Arts Studies. He came to BYU from his native Austria in 1998 to study film. According to FilmBug.com,
[Vuissa] is considered one of the most promising young directors in LDS cinema. Vuissa is the director and creator of several award winning films, including A Given which was the winner of the Christophers Festival in New York in 2001 and Roots & Wings which won the AML (Association for Mormon Letters) Award for Best Film in 2002, the Gold Aurora Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2002, and Best Director/Best Screenplay at the Eclipse Film Festival in 2002.
Other film credits include writing, producing, and directing Diary of a Sister Missionary as well as Baptists at Our Barbecue, and directing Pirates of the Great Salt Lake.
In 2008, Vuissa organized the LDS Film Festival. During that same year, The Errand of Angels, a film about sister missionaries, which he directed, produced, and wrote the screenplay for, opened in select theaters in Utah and Idaho.
