Charles 'Chas' Barton graduated from Brigham Young University in 2013 with a degree in communications. In 2011, he collaborated with other student employees of the Laycock Center for Creative Collaboration in the Arts and BYU faculty to create the exhibit Beauty and Belief, which was featured in BYU's Museum of Art in 2012. He served as the Student Project Manager. In 2014, Barton co-founded, Selfie Police, with Dustin Locke. The idea originated as Selfie Jar, winning the 24hours of Creativity competition hosted by BYU's Laycock Center, and encourages people to donate $1 for every selfie they post online.
