Bremen Leak graduated from Brigham Young University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in communications.

In 2005 Leak was awarded an Oscarson Discovery Grant which enabled him to relocate to New York City where he interned with Newsweek Magazine. He then joined BusinessWeek magazine as a philanthropy reporter.

In 2006, his article "What is Your Time Worth?" appeared in Marriott Alumni Magazine, the publication of the Marriott School of Business at BYU, followed by "Art at Work: Why Companies Spend Millions on Sculptures and Paintings" in 2008 and "Goals that Stick" in 2010.

Currently, he works in West Africa for the Center for Communication Programs at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, based in Baltimore.
