Asia Stryker graduated from Brigham Young University in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in media arts studies.

While an undergraduate, Stryker was involved with the student-made film For Robbing the Dead, a film which was later presented at the prestigious Cannes Film Market in Cannes, France. The film is about a despairing and exiled criminal condemned for robbing graves of the deceased and left for dead on Antelope Island.

In 2010, Stryker received the Best Screenplay award for her film Mended from the Mayhew Screenwriting Competition. She was also a finalist for the Most Outstanding Media Arts Student award from the Theatre and Media Arts department.
